How to get there?

Well-connected across France and Europe, we the city can be reached by individual transport or public transport from all major French cities and various European cities via flights. For a greener, hassle-free journey, we recommend using public transport!

By car

Located in the north-western part of France the city is accessible by car via the E8 from Nantes, and the A11 and A81 from Paris.

By train

We recommend travelling to Rennes by train. You can use the high speed trains (TGV) from Paris but also from Lille, Marseille, Lyon or Nantes. By plane

The Aéroport Rennes Bretagne is a local airport with direct connections within France and selected European cities like London, Dublin or Amsterdam. It is located in the South-West of the city and connected to the city center by public train and bus routes.

The most convenient connection is busline C6 departing every 10 minutes at the airport. It takes approx. 30 minutes to the city center (bus stop République) and approx. 45 minutes to the nearest bus stop to reach the Inria’s conference center. Other possible connections are:

  • Bus C7 from bus stop Air Libre to République (+ possible switch to C4 to Tournebride at République)
  • Regional train (TER) from Saint-Jaques-de-la-Lande station to Gare de Rennes
